Charles Stross & Cory Doctorow On Personal Privacy

Open Rights GroupA few weeks back the Open Rights Group hosted a benefit talk in Central London called Resisting The All-Seeing Eye that I couldn’t go to as it clashed with our own festival. It was about privacy and surveillance in the modern world and featured two authors, Charles Stross and Cory Doctorow, both pretty outspoken chaps with lots of interesting things to say on the subject.

It’s pretty UK-centric on the subject of surveillance but given that we are the most watched nation on the planet that’s not too surprising, however, what they say about government computers, data security, data harvesting and CCTV will resonate with anyone who has ever been online or owns a mobile phone or lives in a town that has CCTV cameras.

Anyway, the whole ninety minutes including the Q&A is available to watch using the modern miracle of the interweb so watch the whole shenanigans in the peace and (non)privacy of your own home and remember to make notes, there’s story ideas aplenty here.

Enjoy!
