Shorts

If, like me, you like to read the last paragraph of a film review, rather than the synopsis of what you are going to see: here it is!

I went went with two of my kids to see the film and… We liked it, but…

In places it is very funny in some it is not so. The story/action moves along nicely but attention spans wandered a little in places. My kids felt the title to be misleading, and thought it should have been called “The Rainbow Stone/Rock” for reasons that will become obvious.

SHORTS is just that, a collection of shortish sections/chapters that all go to make up the “feature length movie”. Robert Rodriguez just runs the film in a non-linear fashion, and whilst ok, it could have been done with a little more flair and inventiveness. This alone could have added and extra dimension to the film, which in places it needed.

It looks like a RR film and, I guess, sounds like one, with RR also contributing to the soundtrack.

If you have time to kill over the summer holidays take the kids to SHORTS, they’ll come out a little wiser, especialy where personal hygiene is concerned!

SHORTS is in cinemas now.
