Forbidden Planet @ 30

Our friends over at Forbidden Planet have been around for 30 years (I couldn't believe it either), and so they are in a celebratory mood. On Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September Forbidden Planet stores around the country will be having huge parties where we get the presents. For starters, the first 30 people through the doors on each of the days will get a fantastic party goodie bag, then there will be thousands of pounds worth of treats being given away throughout the weekend.

As part of the celebration they are also launching a new merchandise range featuring the legendary "People like us shop at Forbidden Planet" design (right) created by comic book supremo Brian Bolland back in the store's infancy.

The party will take place at Forbidden Planet's London Megastore and the stores in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Coventry, Croydon, Liverpool, Newcastle and Southampton.
