NEWS @ 14.1.04 - Marina Sirtis starts shooting
a new movie next weekend and will not be able to attend this screening.
16-year old KELLY (Lauren Birkell) feels unable
to make a connection with anyone around her, least of all her workaholic mum,
LAURA (Marina Sirtis), and unsuccessfully attempts suicide. To
help Kelly’s recovery, mother and daughter rent a large, old country house
for a long summer vacation together.
Over the summer, Kelly befriends local boy Sean (Alexis
Cruz). Kelly seems to be opening up, enjoying her time with Sean and
even takes part-time work at a local children’s centre.
As part of Kelly’s rehabilitation she sees psychiatrist
DR. HALSEY (Dean Haglund), who starts to believe that Kelly’s
new ‘friend’ is no more than the physical manifestation of her own
defences… an attempt to transform a scary world into a safe, welcoming place.
When asked about Sean, Kelly’s mum admits that she’s never actually
seen the boy and Halsey suggests that she should end the friendship. Sean resents
being dismissed and violent poltergeist activity is unleashed.
Laura turns to psychic WILL FRANKLIN (Tucker Smallwood),
a true ‘sensitive’ who believes that Sean is in some way connected
to Kelly rather then to the house. He begins implementing his own plan to put
the spectre to rest.
