Learn from the experts how to light DV to look like film, blow things up, add cinematic effects and all for little or no budget.
We at the festival believe that sci-fi movies do not need lots of special effects to be any good– what you need is a good premise, a strong script and a good cast. But some stories demand moody lighting, a wisp of smoke, the odd light sabre fight or even a 10-megaton explosion to really get the point across. But does this mean you need to add a huge FX budget?
With software like Adobe After Effects and FXhome's Effects Lab you can add some amazing cinematic effects to your movie and with the right advice you can make your DV camera footage look like it was shot on 35mm.
But don't take our word for it, join Neil Oseman (SOULSEARCHER) and Christian Viel (RECON
2022), both of whom have made great looking
movies for very small budgets. They will take you
through a masterclass on lighting for DV and
demonstrate how to add some cool FX to your
movies; Muzzle flares, crashing meteors, lasers,
explosions and much more.
They will take questions and hopefully give you some solid advice to get the shots you want. Tickets are just £10.00
Come and see real filmmakers talk about real hurdles and how to jump them.
