Sci-fi on demand

A new Sci-fi & Fantasy area launches today on Virgin Media’s TV on demand section, with up to 150 hours of programming from Warner TV, FX UK and Virgin Media Television. Virgin Media TV customers on the XL package, or those subscribing to TV Choice, will have unlimited access to classic shows such as Babylon 5 and Star Trek, as well as contemporary science fiction series such as Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (right) whenever they want, at the touch of a button. The Sci-fi & Fantasy area will be regularly updated with new shows each month and will be the new home for the nation’s favourite sci-fi and fantasy shows on demand.

In addition, throughout February, all Virgin Media TV customers will be able to enjoy a selection of sci-fi shows, including V, Supernatural and Moonlight, for free through Virgin Central, the on demand channel (channel 118). Season one of vampire crime series Blood Ties and Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda will also be available on Virgin Central.

Trekkies are also in for a real treat with season five of Star Trek: The Next Generation, season four of Star Trek: Voyager and season seven of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine filling the folder in February. Further Star Trek seasons from Virgin Media Television will be made available month by month on demand, and can be watched on Virgin1 (channel 119) – the home of Star Trek. In addition, Charlie Jade and cult classic Regenesis from FX UK will also be available in February.

As a further treat for horror and supernatural fans, Zone Horror (channel 170) will be available to all customers on Virgin Media’s L TV package throughout February, allowing more customers to enjoy shows such as BeastMaster, The Twilight Zone and Millennium. Other highlights on Zone Horror in February include ‘Slasher Week’, a week long stunt of double bill ‘slasher’ movies each night, and a whole host of vampire movies over ‘Vampire Weekend’ at the end of the month.
