Gilliam season at BFI

Who doesn’t love Terry Gilliam? Quite a lot of people actually, especially those who work for the studios. And yet he is one of the most consistently original (if somewhat unlucky – some say cursed) filmmakers still working in the UK today. His films aren’t always an easy watch, at least not for your average cinema-goer, but he still manages to attract some of the world’s greatest actors to be part of his wild flights of fancy. In the run up to the release of his latest film, THE IMAGINARIUM OF DR PARNASSUS, the BFI Southbank is having a season of Gilliam films throughout August, showing all his canon on a big screen, from his early classics, including BRAZIL and TIME BANDITS, up to the divisive TIDELAND. Don’t miss this chance to see this maverick filmmaker’s genius.
