Robot Chicken Star Wars has to the most consistently funny homages to Lucas’s films made. Unlike the full meal that was Family Guy’s Blue Harvest, Robot Chicken gives us tasty little nuggets to enjoy. Of course, Robot Chicken isn’t just about Star Wars, all pop culture is fodder for their stop-motion toys. Unlike the extreme satire of South Park, the Robot Chicken guys are a bunch of geeks with, what appears to be, a real affection of the the subjects of their ridicule. You don’t go to the lengths of making stop-motion animation for something you don’t like. It might not match the detail of Aardman or Henry Selick, but there is no mistaking who they are parodying. Season Two of Robot Chicken from Adult Swim is out on DVD on September 28, and is stuffed full of extras of behind the scenes and other silliness. Adult Swim are also releasing a box set of Seasons 1 – 3 if you fancy a real feast.
