Ashes to Ashes

The producers of the follow-up series to Life on Mars (nothing to do space travel) certainly missed some tricks (and Keeley Hawes dresses like she should be turning them), when they released it. For a start it would have made more sense to have called it Station to Station. The second season is out on DVD on July 13, and while it is no match for Life on Mars, it is much better than the first season, and even throws in some time travel paradoxes for the show’s more geeky viewers, not to mention plenty of ’80s’ culture (club) and TV references. The season finishes fairly openly so that it can be seen as been resolved or ready for a sequel, although judging by the viewing figures they may have to name it after Bowie’s Berlin album, Low.

Season 2 of Ashes to Ashes is out on DVD (although maybe it should have been released on VHS or Betamax in keeping with the era) on July 13.
