Welcome to the 7th Annual London International Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film or
SCI-FI-LONDON 7 as we like to be known.
We have a brilliant line-up this year and as always we have something for everyone. A selection of incredible short films, some perpelexing time-travel films, fun with superheroes and of course, zombies french-kissing!
The full programme is now online here and tickets are on sale now - we advise you book early! We want you to see more films this year so have put together a ticket deal, buy any 5 tickets and get 1 free*. That is 6 tickets for £50 – and between April 4th and April 14th there is an earlybird offer of an extra 10% discount, that is 6 for £45.00. Don't just tell your friends, bring them with you!
Please note that you can only get the offer by telephone and the 1 free ticket refers to the cheapest ticket... and all-nighters and film school are not included (we need some money in to pay for the festival folks!)
Marc Caro talks about The City of Lost Children in a couple of podcasts recorded at SFL8

The big news is we have confirmed our Opening and Closing Night movies.
Opening Night we have the UK premiere of DANTE 01, a unique science-fiction nightmare vision and the long-awaited solo debut from the legendary co-creator of The City of Lost Children and Delicatessen."
Closing Night is the World Premiere of CHEMICAL WEDDING, the music and screenplay by Bruce Dickinson, front man of the legendary Iron Maiden. Directed by Julian Doyle, CHEMICAL WEDDING is a supernatural occult thriller inspired by the life and works of Aleister Crowley and stars Simon Callow as you have never seen him before.
Another first for the festival is at this year’s MST3K all-nighter. We present 3 classic Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes oh yes… but Mike Nelson and the crew have now created an entirely new way to watch movies. Basically they have created hilarious DVD commentaries – MST3K style. Called RIFFTRAX.COM their website features some of the biggest movies around, The 300, Star Wars, Matrix and so on. Of course it features some real turkey’s too and we bring you the premiere of Rifftrax’s BATTLEFIELD EARTH. Book Early, this event sells out quickly and if you cannot wait check out www.rifftrax.com.
48 Hour Film Challenge news:
Those budding filmmakers among us should be signed up already to take part in the first SCI-FI-LONDON 48 hour Film Challenge. But if you need some more incentive then get this… the winning film will play in front of the CHEMICAL WEDDING world premiere! We also have some other partner’s offering us prizes, SHOOTINGPEOPLE.ORG are giving us several memberships as prizes – and in case you don’t win – well, they have set up a SCI-FI-LONDON offer, see at the bottom of this email for me details.
