What is Oktoberfest?
We can't wait for a whole year to pass, just to have another festival. With so many fantastic films out there, we decided to create our very own mini mid-year festival.
Each October, you'll be able to catch special events, screenings and, of course, our regular All-nighter events.
We have some really cool stuff happening this year including a co-production we are doing with the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Yup, the home of GMT and all things astromonical, we have created SCI-FI-UNIVERSE, a planetarium show from an SF perspective. Also, at the Observatory we will have some talks and a writing workshop. And to celebrate the release of the DVD and Blu-ray, we will do an invite only screening of the new STAR TREK. Click here for details of how to register for this screening and how to buy tickets for this unique night at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park. Buy a planetarium ticket and you can attend on of the talks or workshop for free - places are very limited and on a first-come-first served basis, so get there early.
In the meantime, read below, to find out what happend last year and keep October 23 - 24th free :)

OKTOBERFEST 2008
The first of our mid-festival festivals, and a chance to see more SFL goodness in an autumn weekend.
Premieres of DARK FLOORS, starring Eurovision winners Lordi, and the animated TERRA, were in addition to all-nighters that included the ever-popular anime and MST3K along with our first zombie all-nighter, which featured films from the UK, USA and Japan that had a whole new slant on the genre.
There was also a free screening of the new JJ Abrams paranormal show, FRINGE.
